International Association of Administrative Professionals Offers Business Certifications to Members
IAAP officially endorses the Microsoft Business Certification program
Kansas City, MO – The International Association of Administrative Professionals is offering IAAP members and OfficePro readers the opportunity to become certified as a specialist with Microsoft Office.
IAAP is officially endorsing the Microsoft Business Certification program which offers specialist level certification in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access and Vista. This product endorsement, a first-ever for IAAP, indicates that certified learning for administrative professionals is key to career building.
“Administrative professionals have always been an important customer for Microsoft Business Certification so it is great to have this relationship to get closer to our key customers,” says Angela Carlson, product manager for Microsoft Business Certifications. “It’s exciting to bring the Microsoft Business Certifications to IAAP members so they can attain the credentials needed to demonstrate expertise with Microsoft Office and Vista.”
In today’s highly specialized business climate attaining certification, such as Microsoft Business Certification, helps administrative professionals compete for better jobs. In addition, a recent survey showed employers are willing to offer up to 11 percent more in base salary to administrative professionals who attain certifications.
“This relationship demonstrates IAAP commitment to their membership success and advancement within a highly competitive work environment,” says William Wall, director for Microsoft certifications. “In today’s fast paced market successful employers understand the value of certification in identifying top performers.”
Administrative professionals advance in the workforce through continuing education, staying current in technology, networking and achieving professional and industry certifications.
“IAAP is very pleased to work together with Microsoft in the launch of their new certification program,” says Kathy Schoneboom CPS/CAP, certification manager for IAAP. “We believe professional certification and industry certification go hand-in-hand for the administrative professional who is serious about their profession.”
